 Aims

 The Food/Textiles Technology Department aim to use knowledge and skills to design and make good quality products to meet customer needs.

 Extra-Curricular

 Competitions and master classes offered throughout the year. Notices will be placed on the plasma screen.

 Useful Tips

  • Remember to bring your ingredients to all practical lessons and an appropriate container to take it home in.
  • Ensure you have a safe place to keep your Homework Booklet and remember to complete it each week. (Homework Booklets should not be brought to practical lessons).
  • Have a note from your parents/carers if you are not cooking.
  • Practise new skills at home and develop recipes given.
  • Remember to pick up your food from your food room after pm registration.
  • Always re-heat food properly at home.

 The subject is designed to give candidates an opportunity to extend and apply their skills and knowledge of the catering industry.

 Coursework-60% of total mark

  • Two practical Assessments-40%.

             1st during Year 10 and 2nd during Year 11.

  • Either Work Experience or a Coursework Project-20%

 Theory -40% of total mark.

 Either Paper 1(Foundation) Grades G-C or Paper 2 (Higher) Grades D-A*

 Revision classes: Year 11, days to be announced by teachers.

 Trips arranged for later in the year.
