Roding Valley is proud to possess a fully staffed and self governing kitchen, supervised by Mary Swayne. Many school kitchens contract out their provisioning for school meals and are sometimes therefore obliged to provide convenience food to their pupils.
There has been a lot of coverage on the virtues of good healthy school meals, it's advantages to children's mental and physical health and it's correlation with the ability to focus children on the task in hand. Roding Valley has been providing it's own menu to students for years, after having been subject to a contract in the past. New additions to the menu have been a roaring success - and a new rolling 4 week menu is now in place, giving the students a plethora of choices and the chance to experience food from around the world.
